On September 12th—the 59th anniversary of Point Reyes National Seashore—the National Park Service will determine the future of this beloved national park.
Will the Park Service lock-in and expand ranching for another 20 years, or will the seashore officially become a park as the founders intended 59 years ago?
On the eve of the anniversary, park defenders from around the Bay Area will gather at the Bear Valley Visitor Center to demand the National Park Service make the right decision for the climate, for wildlife, and for future generations.
What: A Turning Point for Point Reyes – Rally
When: Sunday, September 12 at 11am PST
Where: Bear Valley Visitor Center, 1 Bear Valley Visitor Center Access Road, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956
Speakers at the rally include Ken Brower, world renowned environmental writer and son of David Brower, and Theresa Harlan (Kewa Pueblo/Jemez Pueblo), who is advocating for the restoration of her family’s Coast Miwok home at Point Reyes National Seashore and nomination for the National Register of Historic Places.
