FLAMENCO! LIVE! was envisioned, conceived, and has thrived since 2002 in Sonoma County, California, now celebrating 21 years! Presenting the collaborative efforts of the Bay Area’s finest Flamenco Singers, Guitarists and Dancers, and supporting local Flamenco students, dreamers, and talents, our goal has been to present top-notch instruction and performances. Phoebe Vernier “La Fibi” has brought decades of artistry and energy to the public of Sonoma County for the purpose of sharing the music, song and dance, the treasure of Southern Spain. Whether in the classroom, formal theater or in a casual setting, the respect, purity, and integrity of this traditional, yet living and evolving art form is always foremost.
New in 2023!
This performance is underwritten by the generous support of “The Circle of Sponsors”, a group of flamenco music, song and dance supporters from Sonoma County, California and Nationwide that believe in the power of local art to heal and inspire our community and world. Thank you, Sponsors!

Meet Local Sonoma County Flamenco Dancer
Joelle Goncalves!
Joelle is the principal dancer with “Sol Flamenco” in Sonoma County and also works as the company’s Artistic Director. Her formal dance training began in 2003 when she traveled to Sevilla, Spain, to study with Jose Galvan and has returned to Spain several times since then to study with world famous artists such as Manuel Betanzos, Leonor Leal, and Pilar Ortega. She has studied at The Institute for Spanish Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with visiting Spanish artists. In addition to managing shows with some of the Bay Area’s finest artists, she has performed as a soloist with local dance companies, including Mi Alma Flamenca, Mark Taylor Flamenco, the “Flamenco Room” at Thirsty Bear, and FLAMENCO! LIVE! She has received awards from the Sonoma Arts Council, The Alliance for California Traditional Arts and received a personal letter from Cirque du Soleil talent scout, Guilio Scatola, requesting her audition for the production of “Ka”. Most recently she was hired for the winter 2022 season of Cirque de Bobeme’s “Gypsy” as a flamenco soloist. Joelle teaches Flamenco Dance Classes in Sonoma County at The Finley Center every week. A true Sonoma County treasure!
