Boating Summer Camps at The Floathouse [Session 2] Begins Today

This is the best way to enjoy the summer. Floathouse campers learn how to kayak, Stand Up Paddle, row any kind of boat, and be part of the community formed by outrigger canoeing—mentored by members of a local club. Just as importantly, kids have free time for exploring the waterway that gave our city life: the Petaluma River.

We help them understand the fluctuations of wind and tide, and how to use them to have fun on the water safely. We give them an afternoon of exploring the Alman Marsh with a guide, and…what’s been every camper’s favorite activity ever since we built our own facility, “messing about in boats” (playing with the whole Floathouse fleet).

Campers: aged 11-15 [Six campers accepted per week]

Cost: $400, includes all equipment, boating instruction, and assorted snacks.
