The Village Network of Petaluma (and Penngrove) is responding to the pandemic by creating new ways for members and volunteers to connect with each other, build new friendships, and offer mutual support as we navigate opportunities and realities in this historic time. Village membership now offers online wellness programs, interest groups, educational webinars, and social events – as well as volunteer services including grocery shopping, prescription pick-ups, phone friends, computer help by Zoom, and customized referrals to community resources.
When the shelter-in-place orders allow, we will gradually resume offering our usual in-person programs such as driving, friendly visits, minor home repairs, and Med Pals. This is an online or phone meeting for potential members (ages 50+), their adult children, and those interested in volunteering (any age). To receive the Zoom link, or phone in number, please RSVP to the Village office at 707-776-6055 or email info@VillageNetworkofPetaluma.org. -0
The Village Network of Petaluma is a non-profit membership organization created to empower adults 50+ to live active, vibrant, and connected lives in our own homes as we age. We are part of a national movement, with 250+ groups formed since 2004.

Aqus Celtic/Irish Music Session
/0 Comments/in Aqus Cafe, Music /by adminPlayers Always Welcome
We have created an authentic traditional pub seisiun in Petaluma where seisiun-seekers can hear or play “comhaltas ceoltoiri” level traditional music in our area. All interested players of Irish music welcome.
Once the seisiun players can get themselves started, all others can browse ways to learn Irish playing by ear.
While at Aqus, you can get our O’Petaluma Playlist — the 39 the most-played Irish tunes of local Bay Area seisiuns. Irish singers may offer to join future seisiun evenings, within the trad seisiun norms.

The “O’Petaluma Playlist”
These traditional jigs, reels, hornpipes and airs are the ones found most-often-listed on playlists around northern California, and probably the ones most trad Irish musicians hereabouts can play.
So these are good for starters.— either to learn or to get into familiar playing territory
